Dimensional Training Reaches Individual Goals With Group Fitness

By Kelly Church

At Dimensional Training, coaching for full-body training to improve strength, overall health, fitness and a person's wellbeing is the number one goal. The Hempstead gym believes in group classes over individual training. Group classes, according to the Dimensional Training team, create a more fun workout program and allows for fellow gym members to interact with one another.

Dimensional Training uses what they dubbed the 20/40 System. Classes are 60 minutes long, with the beginning of class focusing on form and the last part of class putting the emphasis on intensity. Founder and owner Andrew McCreary said this method yields full-body results.

"We spend your first 20 [minutes] correcting your joint actions for strength, stability and mobility," McCreary said. "The next 40 [minutes are] designed to introduce multi-vector points of resistance. Whether it is high intensity interval training or boxing or Bellicon where all classes are designed to train your entire body as we feel it should be the epitome of your physical balanced self."

Classes at Dimensional Training include boxing, step, core, mobility and even classes that focus on improving endorphins in the body and help gym-goers reclaim their body. The staff is expertly trained in the fitness industry, with McCreary himself being certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He believes in practicing all forms of exercise, using methods from aerobics, calisthenics, plyometrics, yoga and more.

"Our experts are trained to motivate you through each process of your experience with us, unlike most training facilities [where the] population [is] not aware of their individual goal," McCreary said. "Dimensional Training Studios individually have their personalized program design making them aware and conscious of why they enter our doors daily."

When new members sign up, Dimensional Training requires a 20-minute fitness assessment that allows the team to understand each member's specific fitness goals. Single training sessions are available for purchase, as are class packages for five, ten and 20 classes. There are additional membership options, some unique for teachers and teenagers to get them working out. Although they don't focus on private training, one-on-one sessions are available at Dimensional Training. To sign up, call 516-587-4061.
