Ommmango Wellness Brings Relaxation To Long Island

By Keith Donaldson

Gina Pierre founded Ommmango Wellness with the idea of helping people find healing and happiness. A licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist, Pierre opened her studio in Brooklyn to help the denizens of New York find bliss amid the hustle and bustle of city life. She took time to answer some questions for us about what makes Ommmango successful.

What advice would you give to someone who is new to yoga?

Anyone new to yoga should take their time learning the full expression of the practice. Yoga is much more than a workout, it is about being mindful of yourself in class and life. I believe it is great practice to take a beginners class to learn breathing exercises and proper alignment to prevent injuries. Most of all yoga is a personal journey.

What else would you like to convey to the public about your wellness center? What do you enjoy about your job?

My wellness center is focus primarily on health/lifestyle coaching using the tools of acupuncture and massage therapy. We support our clients with holistic healthcare, including dietary and meditation therapy. The center has a serene ambiance which provides much needed rest and rejuvenation. I enjoy making anyone who comes into the center comfortable by serving them tea to unwind from stress.

People love sitting in our candlelight lounge before and after their treatment. We also provide community acupuncture with meditation which I hold dear to my heart as it is great to see a group gathering to heal themselves and possibility each other. This happens on 2 wednesdays a month as a suggested donation. I love my job.
